Sometimes, A Story Can Heal What Medicines Can’t

2 min read

Art has various ways to claw its way into your heart and then control your mind. In this changing world, any form of art is the most powerful force to reckon with, considering how influential “soft power” is. And spoken word is one of the harbingers of this fast-evolving ‘trend’ of getting to see the world change.

“Black and white need a kick of rainbow!”, exclaims spoken word artist Aditya Bhandari. He happily tells that his life is all about art and he would not have it any other way. He genuinely believes that he is truly free, because freedom, according to him, is to pursue what you believe in. And Aditya has dedicated his life to poetry and music – the two things that give him immense bliss.

In one of his spoken word pieces, Aditya claims that the archaic has become obsolete and demands a change in those old articles of our constitution that could not keep up with the changing times. And the way to do so is art – Music, dance, poetry, story-telling and everything that touches the human side of a human being.

Aditya runs a community called ‘free the verse’ to have a safe place for artists who can speak, recite, express and vent themselves without fear. He has walked the talk and helped many artists showcase their talent and that is huge for someone so young himself. Watch him perform his art and talk about what it means to him.
