“I always had a dream to click a photo with Kohli. I’ve tried a lot but did not get any opportunity. Now that I would be sharing the dressing room with my hero is just unbelievable.”

Growing up in a regular family of a doctor parent and an IT professional sibling, Prayas Ray Barman had never thought that he would one day become the world’s youngest person to become a millionaire in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Prayas has been a cricket junkie right from childhood and his parents never pressured him to excel in studies. Hours, days and months of rigorous practice landed him a spot in Bengal’s U15 team. He drove all the attention towards him in the match against J & K by taking 4 wickets and giving away only twenty runs! He also ended up picking 11 wickets in less than four games and earned the title of Kumblesque.

In the Jaipur auction of IPL, Barman was taken by RCB for a whopping 1.5 crores. He says he couldn’t believe that this was really happening for the longest time. Calls were flooding in, congratulatory messages were pouring in and the pressure increased. He not only was now going to be on a national platform but was also going to be directly mentored by his idol, Virat Kholi.

He wishes to play for the country someday and knows that this is just the beginning. He recalls his dad advising him, “Your real achievement should be when you play for the country. Money should never worry you.”
